DEFRA Secretary of State to speak at Ten Alps’ Biodiversity Event

Commenting on the importance of the event, she said, “I welcome the first Global Business of Biodiversity Symposium in July, ahead of the important global CBD discussions at Nagoya in October.

I believe in a society where business and Government have a key responsibility in valuing our biodiversity and ecosystem services to ensure that in the future, individuals, communities and nations can have a healthier and stronger natural environment than today.”

The Royal Household has also confirmed that His Royal Highness, The Prince of Wales will be providing a welcome video message to open the event. Delegates will hear Prince Charles outlining the role that business needs to play in managing Biodiversity overall and the management of food systems.

The first Global Business of Biodiversity Symposium is being held on Tuesday 13th July 2010 at ExCeL London.
